William Mill Leases Chevron Station in Lusk

William J. "Bill" Mill of Torrington and formerly of Lusk has signed a lease with the California Oil Company to lease the station which is now nearing completion in Lusk.

The station has been named the Elk's Hill Service and is a Chevron station. The station takes it's name from its location adjacent to the Elks home in south Lusk. The station is located on the east side of highways 20 and 85.

In a long distance telephone conversation with Mr. Mill Wednesday The Herald learned that tentative plans include opening the station the first week in May.

When Mr. Mill was in Lusk he was engaged in selling Chevrolet automobiles. He left Lusk in 1945 and purchased the Silver Tip Refinery near Yoder. Later he sold the Yoder business to Mr. and Mrs. Lester Brooks, also former Lusk residents.

Mr. and Mrs. Mill are expected to arrive here later this week.

New Chevron Station will Open Thursday

The Elk's Hill Chevron Service Station will open for the first time Thursday, May 26. It has been leased by Ben F. Wolfe and will be operated by Gene Patton.

 It had been previously announced that William J. "Billie" Mill had leased the station. Mr. Mill was released from the lease by the California Oil Company to take advantage of another business opportunity.

The brand new and completely modern station will feature Chevron petroleum products, RPM oils, and will have complete washing, lubrication and tire repairing service. the station will be open from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. daily.

The station takes its name form its location which is adjacent to the Lusk B.P.O.Elks home. The station is on the east side of Highways 85 and 20.
