Hugo Payne Sells Property, Closing Out Hardware Stock

The Niobrara Amusement Company, managed by Sam Ferinstein and operators of the Wyoming Theatre, became owners of the building of First and Main now occupied by Payne Hardware and the Modern Shoe and Harness Shop. Possession to be June 1. Property has 50 feet facing main and the 2 lots have depth of 100 feet. Mr. Payne purchased the corner building 12 years ago from M.D. Barnes, former hardware merchant and a few years ago bought the adjacent property to the north from the Norton estate. One year ago he made extensive improvements on the property, and has operated a hardware store in the main portion of the building. Modern Shoe and harness Shop is located in the north part while Wilson and Son have a plumbing establishment in the east portion. Feinstein stated the purchase was made with a view that in the future a theatre may be erected on the corner lot.
