TOM BOWER

by Mrs. Tom Bower

Tom and Myrtle Bower arrived in Wyoming August 2, 1929, in a Model T Ford, with one small cedar chest and a few clothes. Tom had a job in Platte Valley feeding cattle for the Wilson brothers; Ellis was foreman. After 1-1/2 years we leased our first ranch, the John T. Mills ranch. Later there were the Ray Condras, Ralph Decker, Leonard Gilbert ranches all of the Lost Springs area and Adelyn Brooks place at Manville.

We bought the Klint place in 1953 and by investing our savings we were able to pay out in five years. The two large sheds are painted red as well as the fence. A garage has been added, the house is modern and a jet pump takes the place of the tub and syrup pails. Tom and I run Hereford cattle and have always worked a team. The ranch consists of 4,740 acres of deeded land and 800 acres is leased.
