'What's News: Wyoming Connects' is new program sponsored by the Wyoming Humanities Council with local support from the Niobrara County Library. This current events program utilizes the videoconferencing capabilities of the University of Wyoming. Join journalism experts to discuss current topics with audiences from Greybull, Lander and Laramie on Friday, November 6 from 7-9 p.m. at the school district administration building. For more information contact the library at 334-3490 or the Wyoming Humanities Council at 307-721-9247.

Check out this new book at the library - "The Fixer Upper" by Mary Kay Andrews. After her boss at a Washington PR firm is caught in a political scandal, fledgling lobbyist Dempsey Jo Killibrew is left broke, unemployed and homeless. She reluctantly accepts her father's offer to help refurbish Birdsong, the old family place that he recently inherited in Guthrie, Georgia, but it's going to take more than a little paint and TLC to turn the fading Victorian mansion into a real-estate cash cow. Mary Kay Andrews is a new author for the library and most of her books are now available.

Other new fiction includes "Riverside Park" by Laura Van Wormer, "A Surrendered Heart" by Traci Peterson, "Hello Gate" by Stephen Frey, "Spartan Gold" by Clive Cussler and "Even Money" by Dick Francis.

New adult non-fiction includes "Soul of a Dog: Reflections on the Spirits of Animals of Bedlam Farm" by Jon Katz and "The Secret Life of Marilyn Monroe" by J. Randy Taraborrelli.

"Daniel X: Watch the Skies" by James Patterson is new for the young adults.

The Lennea Lewis Slagle Children's Library has these new junior titles: "Wild River" by P. J. Peterson and "Deep and Dark and Dangerous" by Mary Downing Hahn. New picture books include "My Name is Sangoel" by Karen Lynn Williams, "Help me, Mr. Mutt: Expert Answers for Dogs with People Problems" by Janet Stevens and "Danny Diamondback" by Barry E. Jackson.
