"The Horse Boy" will be shown on Monday, January 24 at 6 p.m. as part of the "Steed Reads Festival" dinner and movie series at the library. The film follows a Texas couple and their autistic son as they trek on horseback throughout Mongolia in an attempt to find healing for their son. Deane Tucker will return to lead the discussion and a light meal will be served. Plan to attend!

Kate Morton's "The Forgotten Garden" was talked about long after being read. Will her newest, "The Distant Hours" be the same? A letter delivered 50 years late sends Edie Burchill to Milderhurst Castle, a great but moldering old House in Kent where her mother was billeted as a child during World War II. There she begins to unravel her mother's past; but there are other secrets hidden in the stones of Milderhurst. The truth about what happened in "the distant hours" of the past has been waiting a long time for someone to find it. Call 334-3490 to reserve this book.

Other new fiction books include "Red Herring" by Archer Mayor, "The Human Blend" by Alan Dean Foster, "Crescent Dawn" by Clive Cussler, "Luka and the Fire of Life" by Salman Rushdie, "I Still Dream about You" by Fannie Flagg and "Hell's Corner" by David Baldacci.
