Fred Eikenberry Funeral Held in Lusk Saturday

Funeral services for Fred W. Eikenberry, 84, of Lusk, who died April 23 in the Spencer Hospital following a lingering illness, were held Saturday afternoon from the Peet Chapel with Rev. Jacob Nein officiating. Burial was made in the Lusk Cemetery.

A mixed quartet composed of Miss Phyllis Johns, Mrs. H. J. Templeton, Rex Yocum and Dan Christian sang "Nearer and Nearer" and "Near the Cross". Mrs. J. P. Watson was organist.

Pallbearers were Menno Kaan, Henry Kaan, Bernard Kaper, Valdy Wingren, M. S. Jordan and Art Thompson.

Fred Welch Eikenberry was born April 8, 1874 the son of Munroe and Samantha Eikenberry.

He was married to Sophronia Lutes August 26, 1900. They were the parents of five children. They moved from Missouri to Stapleton, Nebr. in 1915 and later to Wyoming where they homesteaded south of Lusk. They made this their home until 1938 when they retired and moved to Lusk. Mr. Eikenberry was Justice of the Peace for several years and a member of the First Congregational Church of Lusk. He has been in failing health since the death of Mrs. Eikenberry in 1953.

Survivors include four daughters, Edna Blair of Lander, Florence Rovere, Sturgis, S.D., Edith Kaan and Marian Duguid of Lusk; one son, Howard Eikenberry of Lusk. Twenty-two grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren also survive.

Fred Eikenberry Dies Wednesday

Fred W. Eikenberry, 84, of Lusk died Wednesday morning in the Spencer Hospital following a lingering illness. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. from Peet Chapel with Rev. Jacob Nein officiating.

Survivors include one son, Howard of Lusk; and four daughters; Mrs. Nick Kaan and Mrs. J. O. Duguid of Lusk, Mrs Joe Rovere, Sturgis, S.D. and Mrs. Percy Blair, Lander.
