Elmer J. Fleming

Funeral services for Elmer J. Fleming, age 87, were held at 2 p.m., Monday 25, 1996, at the Bader Funeral Home with Rev. Frank Bozart and Rev. Don Laue officiating. Burial followed in the Lusk Cemetery.

Mr. Fleming died Friday morning, March 22, 1996, at the Niobrara County Memorial Hospital in Lusk. He was born March 6, 1909, at Seward, Neb., the son of Edward and Elizabeth Fleming. When Elmer was seven years old, the family moved to the Jay Em community and homesteaded there. They later moved to a place near Node.

Elmer married Ruth Hitchcock in 1939 at Hot Springs, S.D. One daughter, Carol Jean was born to this union. They made their home in Lusk most of their lives. Elmer worked at various jobs for a few years and then was employed by the Town of Lusk for 34 years before retiring.

Survivors include his wife Ruth of Lusk; his daughter and son-in-law Carol Jean and Bruce Quintard of Harrison, Neb.; two grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
