Sadie C. Hanson

Lusk native Sadie C. Hanson died early Thursday morning, June 20, 1985, at her home south of Lusk. She was 78.

Miss Hanson was born Feb. 26, 1907, in Lusk, the daughter of Frank and Catharine Hanson.

She grew up on the family ranch near Young Woman Creek north of Lusk in an area that was in Converse County before Niobrara County was formed. She attended rural schools and completed her high school education in Lusk. She later attended the University of Wyoming and taught three or four terms at rural schools in Niobrara County. During World War II, she worked on war projects at the Cheyenne Airport.

After the war she returned to the family ranch and Lusk, where she cared for her parents until their deaths.

She was preceded in death also by a half-sister, Margaret Miller. She is survived by a brother, Dan B. Hanson of Kaycee, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were Monday at the Peet Mortuary Chapel. The Rev. Mark Lohr officiated. Burial was in Lusk Cemetery.
