Mrs. Knittle Dies Saturday

Mrs. Nettie Knittle, 74, a resident of Lusk for over 50 years, died in the Spencer Hospital early Saturday morning of a heart attack. She had been a patient at the hospital for two weeks and had had an appendectomy two days prior to her death.

Funeral services were held at the Peet Chapel at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Malcolm Linkous, State Overseer of the Church of God of Prophecy, officiating. Mrs. A. F. DeCastro and Mrs. Emerson Bonner sang "Beautiful Isle", "Shall We Gather at the River" and "Sunrise". Mrs. J. P. Watson was organist. Pallbearers were: the Rev. Ezra Jestes, Valdy Wingren, Howard Wingren, Clifford Lindley, Henry Herbers and Don Taylor.

Nettie May Swanson, daughter of Andrew and Lena Frieberg Swanson, was born March 14, 1886 in Omaha, Nebr. As a young girl she came to Lusk to live with her sister, Mrs. Pearl Reinecke. She married Frank Otto Knittle March 29, 1909 and they were the parents of six children, two dying soon after birth. In 1933 Mrs. Knittle became a member of the Church of God of Prophecy. Mr. Knittle died March 18, 1959, had he lived 11 more days they would have observed their fiftieth wedding anniversary.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Mable Milburn, Aurora, Ore. and Mrs. Caroline Shroyer, Greybull; two sons, Albert of Cheyenne and Otto of Lusk; a sister, Mrs. Pearl Reinecke of Lusk; a brother, Valdy Swanson, Santa Rosa, Calif.; 11 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Out-of-town friends and relatives here to attend the services were: Mrs. Mable Milburn, Aurora, Ore.; Mr. and Mrs. Albert Knittle and family Cheyenne; Mr. and Mrs. Orlis Shroyer and family, Greybull; Mrs. and Mrs. Otto Weible, Mrs. Lea Weible, Cheyenne; Mr. and Mrs. Chris Vaudrey, Wheatridge, Colo.; Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Milburn, Rushville, Nebr.; Mrs. Mary Spaeth, Denver; Mrs. Nellie King, Bob Briner, Sharon Stoneking, Guernsey; Mrs. Don Moore, the Rev. and Mrs. Ezra Jestes and the Rev. and Mrs. Malcolm Linkous, Casper.
