Last Rites Held For Goodson Lacy

Funeral services for Goodson Lacy, 91, who died at Lincoln on August 3, were held at the Harrison Methodist Church last Thursday and as Mr. Lacy's last request, his body was buried at Harrison, the community which he loved so much.

The Rev. James Keith officiated. Pallbearers were Jim Bourret, Pat Lacy, Ted Davis, Art From, Russell From, and Charles Bourret. Mrs. James Keith sang accompanied by Mrs. Robert Todd sang "Abide With Me" and "Beyond the Sunset."

Mr. Lacy was born in Kingston, Canada, January 28, 1874. When he was a very small child the family moved to Danbury, Iowa, where he grew to manhood. He came to Sioux County in 1879 at the age of 23 where he lived for the next 52 years of his life, most of which was spent in farm-ranch operation.

He was a carpenter by trade and built a number of houses which still stand in Harrison. After moving from the farm in 1926 he served the Harrison community as custodian of schools and for a while during World War II as Sioux County Sheriff.

In 1949 he moved to Lincoln where he spent the remainder of his life.

Mr. Lacy is survived by his wife, Antonette; a son Melvin; daughter Josephine; two grandchildren, Sonja and Nelson Lacy; brother, Jay; and sister, Mrs. Jennie Bourret.

Relatives and friends here for the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Carl Fisher and Mrs. Lacy of Lincoln; Melvin Lacy of Corpus Christi, Texas; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Morgan of Glenrock, Wyo.; Mrs. Ida Jones, Meteetse, Wyo.; Mrs. Grace Powell, Mr. and Mrs. Pat Lacy, Jay Lacy, and Mr. and Mrs. Jim Bourret all of Kimball; Mrs. Jennie Bourret and Mrs. Ina Marie Copley of Sidney; Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Coffee of Edgemont; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Lacy and Mr. and Mrs. Francis Bourret all of Casper, Wyo.
