Fred G. Larson

Graveside rites were held for Fred G. Larson of Omaha, Nebr., brother of A. E. Larson, of Lusk, at 2:00 p.m. Friday afternoon, by Harmony Lodge No. 24, A.F. & A.M., at the Lusk Cemetery with C. E. "Blondie" Marvin serving as worshipful master. Casket bearers were Hans Gautschi, Thos. O. Miller, Leonard Ong, O. M. Rasmussen, Wm. D. Miller and Charles Lee.

Mr. Larson passed away at University Hospital in Omaha, Nebr., on Tuesday March 1st with funeral rites being held Thursday afternoon of last week. The remains were brought to Lusk for interment.

Mr. Larson was reared to manhood at Harrison, Nebr., and was united in marriage to Miss Ruth Agnew at the home of the late Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Snyder in Lusk, Wyoming.

He was employed in the Cureton drug store in Lusk and later worked for the Snyder Mercantile Co. He then moved to Manville where he and his brother, Roy Larson owned and operated a drug store for several years. They also lived in Moorcroft for a short time, and at the time of his demise was still a member of the Moorcroft Masonic lodge.

About 30 years ago they moved to Omaha, Nebr. where he became a pharmacist at the University Hospital in 1928, retiring in January, 1995, because of ill health.

He is survived by his wife, one daughter, Mrs. Shirley Janke, Long Beach Calif., and three grandchildren, four brothers, A. E. Larson. Lusk, Wyo., L.C. Larson of Chadron, Nebr., Ralph Larson, Harrison, Nebr., and Roy A. Larson of Hemet, Calif., and one sister, Mrs. Allen Christian, Crawford, Nebr. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, A. W. Larson, Grand Island, Nebr. and a sister, Mrs. Lily O'Shea, Harrison, Nebr.

Fred Larson Dies Tuesday; Burial to Be Here Friday

Fred G. Larson, 63, brother of A. E. Larson of Lusk, died at the University Hospital in Omaha Tuesday at 2:00 p.m., following along illness.

Funeral services are being held Thursday in Omaha. Interment will be in the Lusk cemetery Friday at 2:00 p.m. with masonic graveside rites.

Mr. Larson grew to young manhood at Harrison and was married to Miss Ruth Agnew at the home of Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Snyder in Lusk.

He was employed in the Cureton drug store in Lusk and later worked for the Snyder Mercantile Co. He then moved to Manville where he and his brother, Roy Larson, owned and operated a drug store for several years. They also lived in Moorcroft for a few years and at the time of his death, Mr. Larson was still a member of the Moorcroft Masonic Lodge.

Larson of Grand Island and one sister, Mrs. Lily O'Shea of Harrison, preceded him in death.

Masonic Graveside Services Held Here For Fred G. Larson

Masonic graveside services were held in Lusk Friday for Fred G. Larsen (Larson), 61, of Omaha, Nebraska, who died March 1. Services were held at the N. P. Swanson Chapel in Omaha Thursday, March 3 with Dr. W. Perry officiating. C. E. Marvin served as Worshipful Master for the Masonic service here.

Mr. Larson was well known in this area having lived in this area for many years. Prior to his death, Mr. Larson served as head pharmacist at the University Hospital in Omaha. The flags at the University were flown at half mast following his death. He was born in Crawford, Nebraska, and came to Wyoming as a young man. He was employed in the Cureton Drug Store in Lusk and later worked for the Snyder Mercantile Co. At one time, he and his brother, Roy Larsen, operated a drug store in Manville. He also lied in Moorcroft, Wyoming. He was a member of Gate City Masonic Lodge of Pine Bluffs, Wyoming and had been a member there continuously since 1916. He attended Harmony Masonic Lodge regularly while living in Lusk and Manville.

Casket bearers for the services here, all masons, were: Hans Gautschi, Thomas O. Miller, O. M. Rasmusen, William D. Miller, Charles V. Lee and Leonard Ong.

He is survived by his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Shirley Janke of Long Beach, Calif.; three grandchildren Roger Janke, 11, Paul Janke, 8, and Melissa, 4. Also surviving are four brothers, A. E. Larson of Lusk, L. C. Larson of Chadron, Ralph Larson of Harrison and Roy A. Larson of Hemet, Calif.; and one sister, Mrs. Allen Christian of Crawford. His parents, one brother, A. W. Larson of Grand Island, Neb., and a sister, Mrs. Lily O'Shea of Harrison preceded him in death.

His wife, Mrs. Ruth Larson, is a sister to the late Martin C. Agnew.
