Hattie Leimser Niobrara Resident Since 1927 Dies

Funeral service for Mrs. Hattie Leimser, 85, was held at the Peet Chapel Tuesday at 2:00 p.m.

The Rev. Fred Bolinger conducted the service. Mrs. Edna DeCastro, organist, played "Crying In The Chapel" just prior to the service and accompanied Tim Johnson as he sang "Nearer My God To Thee" and "The Old Rugged Cross."

Honorary pallbearers were Ray Jenkins, James Krejci, Charles Krejci, Louie Krejci, Henry Krejci, Joe Traphagan, Paul Heany, C. E. Marvin, Woodson Graham, Roscoe Ross, Henry Lewis and Pete Germann.

Casket bearers were Ramon Jenkins, Milton Heimes, W. W. Culver, Bert Kaper, Herbert Tadewald, and C. A. Black. Burial was in the Lusk Cemetery.

Mrs. Hattie Leimser was born January 26, 1888, near Fayetteville, Ark., to Jessie and Anna Maar Paschal. The fourth of seven children, she was the last survivor of the Paschal family.

She was baptized in the river as a member of the Fair View Christian Church. March 31, 1963, she put her membership in the First Baptist Church of Lusk. Her faith in Christ has been her strength all her life, according to her family.

Mrs. Leimser left Fayetteville in 1913 to live with her brothers Frank and Ben in Shamrock, Tex. She married Joseph Leimser February 1, 1915, in Wellington, Tex. Four children, Hazel, Dale, Joe Ben, and Dean, were born.

The family then moved to Nebraska living near Hastings until 1927 when they moved to Niobrara County where she lived until her death February 17 after a short illness.

Survivors are one daughter, Hazel Hammer, three sons, Dale, Joe Ben and Dean all of Lusk; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Her husband Joseph, three brothers and three sisters and her parents died previously.
