Bonnie Ausborn

Funeral services for former Lusk resident Bonnie F. Ausborn, 73, of Branson, Mo., were conducted Dec. 27, 2002, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Lusk by Pastor Marvin Temme. Interment followed in the Lusk Cemetery.

She died Dec. 22, 2002, at the home of her daughter in Branson.

Born Dec. 28, 1928, in Carroll, Iowa, she was the second child of Gustav and Olive Luft. She graduated in 1949 from Buena Vista College in Storm Lake, Iowa, with a teaching degree.

On June 15, 1949, she married C. W. "Ozzie" Ausborn. They were married for 50 years before his death in November 1999.

In 1967, she returned to college, graduating from Western State College in Gunnison, Colo., in 1969. She taught first-sixth grades in Country schools for 10 years; in 1978 she began teaching third grade in Lusk. She retired in 1989.

Her retirement years were spent traveling, visiting her children and making quilts. Sewing was her passion, and she made 75 quilts in her lifetime.

Survivors include three daughters, Nan Beckman of Branson, Clare Mick of Neodesha, Kan., and Jill Crinklaw of Willow, Alaska; five granddaughters; and two great-granddaughters.

The family would appreciate memorials to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tenn., 38105.

Cicmanec-Pier Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
