Elizabeth C. Neilson

Funeral services for Elizabeth C. Neilson Deering, 92, were Nov. 6, 1996, at the Wheatland Bible Church in Wheatland with the Rev. Gordon Swedberg officiating. Burial will be in the Wheatland Cemetery. Memorials are to Services for Seniors, 1605 16th Street, Wheatland, Wyo., 82201 or the Gideons International, P.O. Box 5867, Cheyenne, Wyo., 82003.

She died Nov. 2, 1996, at the North Shore Manor Nursing Home in Loveland, Colo., where she resided. She was born Dec. 15, 1903, in Wheatland to Andrew and Ivy Caroline (Curtis) Neilson. She was born and raised on the Neilson Homestead Ranch on Sybille Creek, west of Wheatland. She graduated from Wheatland High School in 1923; attended Beauty School in Los Angeles, Calif.; and Reflexologist School in Casper. During her life, she was a bookkeeper; stenographer, beautician with her own shop, owner of the Wyoming Motel for 15 years, and worked as a reflexologist. She lived in Wheatland for 80 years; moving to Point Frontier in Cheyenne from 1989-1994; the Collingwood Assisted Living Center in Fort Collins, Colo., from 1994-1995; and to North Shore Manor in Loveland in 1995. She was married to J. B. Deering for 11 years. She made her own living since the age of 15. She traveled all over the world and nearly every state in the United States since 1960. She cared for her mother for years at the family home on 10th Street in Wheatland. She was a member of the Wheatland Bible Church.

Survivors include niece Marsha (Neilson) Scoles and her husband, David, of Colorado Springs, Colo.; nephews Robert Neilson and David Neilson, both of Lance Creek, and Dean Neilson of California; sister-in-law Martha Neilson of Lance Creek; great-nieces Suzanne (Scoles) Erickson of Colorado Springs and Tamara (Scoles) Alexander of Dallas, Texas; and great-nephew Samuel Scoles of Thailand.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband J. B. Deering; brothers Andrew Alcott Neilson and Thomas Curtis Neilson; and nephew Kenneth Neilson.

Serving as pallbearers were Jerry Nichols, Peter Thompson, Rocky Ralls, Robert Noyce, Jack Dinnel and Kenneth Bailey. Serving as honorary pallbearer will be David A. Scoles. The Platte Funeral Chapel of Wheatland is in charge of arrangements.
