ANDY NELSON OF LANCE CREEK DIES MONDAY

Andy Nelson, a resident of Lance Creek for 30 years, died at the Spencer Hospital, Monday morning, March 10, after a lingering illness. Mr. Nelson was 64 years of age.

Funeral services will be conducted from the Peet chapel on Thursday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock with the Rev. F. C. Doctor, pastor of the Lutheran Church of Lusk, officiating.

Interment will be made in the Manville cemetery.

Mr. Nelson was born at Jacksonville, Ill., August 21, 1882, and when still a small boy moved with his family to Nebraska. He was married on December 20, 1895, to Emma Henricksen at Scribner, Neb. They continued to make their home there for ten years. In 1916 the family moved to Lance Creek, where they have resided since. Last year, because of ill health, Mr. Nelson retired from active work and he and Mrs. Nelson moved into the Gateway settlement to make their home.

Besides his wife he is survived by five daughters and five sons.

Andy Nelson Dies in Lusk Monday,

The field was saddened by the death of Andy Nelson, who passed away early Monday morning at a hospital in Lusk.

The Nelsons have been residents of the Lance Creek vicinity since l915. They lived on a ranch until about a year and a half ago when ill health caused them to retire. They moved to Mosierville.

Surviving him are his wife and ten children. All the children, with the possible exception of Fred, who lives in Washington, will be here for the funeral. Fred will attend if transportation can be arranged in time.

His daughter, Mrs. Jess and husband, from Scotia, Neb., are here now. Funeral arrangements had not been completed at this writing.

Their many, many friends offer their sincerest sympathy to the family.

Services Held For Mr. Nelson

Funeral services for Andrew C. Nelson, 64, highly esteemed resident of Lance Creek for the past 32 years, were conducted from the Peet Chapel in Lusk on Thursday afternoon and burial was made in the Manville cemetery.

Mr. Nelson died at the Spencer Hospital, Monday, March 10, after a lingering illness.

Rev. Ezra Duncan, pastor of the Baptist Church, officiated at the service and the first verses of "Abide With Me" were sung at the opening of the service, and the last verse at the close.

The singers were Phyllis Owens, Phyllis Klemke, Dorthy Humphrey, Oscar Bostrom, Martin Glandt, John Doctor and Donley Unruh, with Miss Minnie Frosheiser accompanist.

Immediately following the service the remains were taken to Manville, where interment was made in the cemetery there. The casket bearers were Ernest Schuricht, Marvin Skillings, Paul Miller, Fred Hansen, James Klint and William Humphrey.

James Christian Nelson, the son of Jens and Anna Nelson, was born on August 21, 1882, at Jacksonville, Ill. When a young boy he moved with his family to Scribner, Neb., where he grew to manhood.

December 20, 1905, he was married to Emma Hinrichsen, at Scribner. They became the parents of twelve children, two of whom have preceded their father in death.

In 1915 the family came to Wyoming, locating on a ranch in the Lance Creek area, where they resided for 30 yers. About a year ago Mr. and Mrs. Nelson purchased a home at Gateway and Mr. Nelson retired from active ranch work because of poor health.

He is survived by his wife, Emma, five sons and five daughters and nineteen grandchildren.

The children are: Fred of Grant's Pass, Ore.; Melvin of Keeline, Wyo.; Elmer, Linden and Lester of Lance Creek, Wyo.; Mrs. Laurine Jess of Scotia, Neb.; Mrs. Betty Taylor of Douglas, Wyo.; Miss Violet Nelson of Denver, Colo., and Miss Ramona Nelson of Lusk. Four brothers, Henry of Scribner, Neb.; Marsh of Pender, Neb.; Will of Ord, Neb., and Jim of Yankton, So. Dak. One sister, Mrs. Elsie Thompson of Fremont, Neb.
