Ernest Paulsen Funeral Held in Edgemont Feb. 15

Funeral services for Ernest A. Paulsen, Sr. were held at 10:30 a.m. February 15 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Edgemont with the Rev. R. H. Eckoff officiating. Pallbearers were Orval Dryer, Glen Langley, Wm. Glandt, Emmit Bone, John Goddard and Charles Vaughan. Burial was in the Edgemont Cemetery.

Ernest Andrew Paulsen, son of Sena Mortensen and Andrew Peter Paulsen, was born July 5, 1888 at Atlantic, Iowa. He was baptized as an infant in the Lutheran Church. He moved with his family to Hazard, Nebr., then to Boelus, Nebr. He was employed in various towns in Nebraska before enlisting in the U.S. Army to serve from 1917-1919, for a time in France.

In 1927 he married Sula Endicott in Ivanhoe, Minn. The next year he moved with his wife and three step-children to Fall River County, S. Dak., settling on a ranch west of Ardmore. It was here his two sons were born. Later they purchased a ranch near Lusk where they have since resided.

Mr. Paulsen had been is failing health for several years but became much worse last fall. He was a patient at a Lusk Hospital for some time before he was admitted to the Veterans Hospital in Hot Springs where he died February 12.

Survivors include his wife, Sula; two sons, Ernest Jr., of Lusk and Clifford of Fort Dodge, Iowa; two step-daughters, Mrs. Marie Begley of Casper and Mrs. Neva Bonsell of Faith, S. Dak.; a step-son, Ira Endicott of Rawlins; a sister, Mrs. Carrie Hollister of Boise, Ida.; a brother, Martin of Edgemont; four step-sisters, two step-brothers and 16 grandchildren.
