Cecile M. Shaffer

Graveside services for Cecile M. Shaffer were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, in the Lusk Cemetery with Rev. Roy Howell officiating. She died Feb. 20 in Lusk.

Cecile was born July 22, 1916, in Ft. Madison, Iowa, the daughter of Ralph and Gladys Shaffer. She was a resident of Newton, Kansas before moving to Lusk.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.

Survivors include a son, Robert O'Brien of Fall River, N.J.; five brothers, Harold of Modesto, Calif., Hillard of Denver, Colo., Glenn of Springfield, Ore., and Richard and Fred, both of Kansas City, Kan.; a sister, Ruth Stuckey of Fort Meyers, Fla. and numerous relatives and friends.

For those who wish, memorials to either the Senior Center in Lusk or to the American Cancer Society will be appreciated by the family.

Cecile Shaffer Dies

Graveside services were held at the Lusk Cemetery Saturday for former resident Cecile Shaffer who passed away at the hospital in Lusk Wednesday night. Cecile and her former husband Joe O'Brien oprated a ranch about 45 miles north of Lance Creek for many years. For the past several years, she had made Lusk her home and taken care of children for others. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
