Everett Smith Dies Here Sunday

Everett Minis George Smith, 65, of Lusk died Sunday at the Niobrara County Memorial Hospital. Funeral services were held this Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. from the Peet Mortuary of Lusk. Burial was in the Lusk Cemetery,

The Rev. Fred Bolinger of the First Baptist Church of Lusk officiated. Mrs. J.P. Watson, organist, accompanied Mrs. Hobart Cockerham and Mrs. Ramie Fosher as they sang "Beyond The Sunset" and "The Old Rugged Cross."

Casket bearers were Bud Wilkison, Richard Schnorenberg, Newton Kelly, Oscar Bostrom, Van Hank and Hobart Cockerham.

Mr. Smith was born July 19, 1903 at Magnolia, Iowa, to Minis and Lillie Smith. He lived in Iowa for 16 years, moving to Wyoming in 1919. His education was received in Iowa and Wyoming. He married Dorothy Crawford in September of 1953.

Survivors include his widow, Dorothy of Lusk; three daughters, Dorothy Leeling, Thornton, Colo., Marjorie Hollon, Douglas, Joan Harrington, Gardiner, Mont; six sons, Raymond, Hat Creek, Everett M. Jr., Casper; Francis, Oakland, Calif., Eugene, Morrill, Nebr., Earl and Leo of Lusk; two step-daughters, Marolyn Denny, Holyoke, Colo., Martha Cook, Sheridan; two step-sons, Bob Moss Casper, and Earnest Moss, Bozeman, Mont.; his mother Lillie Smith, Chadron; four sisters, Esther Morris, Chadron, Ethel Morris, Milton Freewater, Ore., Eva Evans, Edgemont, Ella Williams, Mesa, Ariz.; and 25 grandchildren.

His father, Minis Smith died previously.

Note: Although this obituary indicates that he was buried in Lusk, his remains have been moved to Torrington, Wyoming.
