Virginia M. St. John

Services for Virginia M. St. John, 65, were held Saturday, Jan. 26, 1991, at 10 a.m. in the Peet Mortuary Chapel in Lusk with Rev. Allen Kallenbach officiating. Burial will follow in the Lusk Cemetery.

St. John died Wednesday, Jan. 23, 1991, following a courageous battle with terminal lung cancer.

The daughter of Pete and Golden Grimes, she was born May 16, 1925, in Oceola, Iowa. After spending her school years in Iowa, she moved to Casper, Wyo., where she met and married Frank C. St. John on her birthdate in 1952. In 1956, Frank was transferred to the Colorado Division of Hughes Tool Company in Denver. After which, Virginia began working as a travel agent for Forbes Travel. During the time spent in Colorado, Virginia and her husband fostered several children and to this day stay in close contact. In the early 1960s, they adopted two children; Michael age 4, and Lori age five months. In 1969, Virginia and her family relocated to Lusk.

During this time, Virginia managed her own travel agency in her spare time, and was active in the improvement of the Niobrara Park addition. Wanting to continue to help the community, she became a member of the Does Lodge in Lusk. However, due to her illness, she was limited in her participation.

Her family would like to take a moment and share with you a wish she shared with us:

May we wish you -
Enough happiness to keep you sweet;
Enough trials to keep you strong;
Enough sorrow to keep you human;
Enough hope to keep you happy;
Enough failure to keep you humble;
Enough success to keep you eager;
Enough faith in yourself and your profession to banish discouragement;
Enough wealth to meet your needs; and
Enough determination to make each day a better day than yesterday.

She leaves behind her husband, Frank, and their two children.

Serving as pallbearers were Bill St. John, Pat St. John, Randy Tidwell, Harry Brown, Eldon Frye, and Raime Fosher.

A memorial to the choice of the donor would be equally appreciated by the family.

Peet Mortuary of Lusk was in charge of arrangements.
