Jake Stallman Dies Last Thurs.

Theodore Jacob (Jake) Stallman, 78, died last Thursday at the Torrington Hospital. Funeral services were conducted from the Peet Mortuary in Lusk Monday at 2:00 p.m. Burial was in the Lusk Cemetery. The Rev. Fred Bolinger of the First Baptist Church of Lusk officiated.

Mrs. Richard Korns of Manville was organist and accompanied Mrs. A. F. DeCastro and Mrs. Dean Glandt as they sang "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere" and "In The Garden."

Casketbearers were Frank Mahnke, Joe Traphagan, Jennings Ruffing, Ab DeCastro, Ray Morris and L. T. Bonner.

He was born May 3, 1891, at Raeville, Neb. As a young man he came to Manville with three brothers, Barney, Joe and Alvis, and homesteaded northwest of Manville. May 21, 1912, he married Edna Keithly in Lusk. After living in Manville for several years they moved to Lusk where he operated a potato chip business for a number of years and later carried railroad freight.

Survivors include Mrs. Edna Stallman of Torrington; two daughters, Mrs. Richard (Beverly) Hoy of Lance Creek and Mrs. David (Betty) Boston of Hennessey, Okla.; two sisters, Mrs. Regina Crowell and Mrs. Jeanne Herbers, both of California.; one brother. Alvis Stallman of Pittsburg, Tex.; three granddaughters, four grandsons.

Many Relatives Here for Stallman Funeral

Deepest sympathy is extended to the Richard Hoy family and Mrs. David Boston and family of Hennesey, Okla., former residents, on the death of the women's father, Jake Stallman, in Torrington last Thursday.

Funeral services were held Monday in Lusk at the Peet Mortuary. Relatives attending were Mrs. Edna Stallman of Torrington, Mr. and Mrs. Boston, Ramona and David, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Hoy and family, Mrs. Mary Moore and Mrs. Mary Francis Bundros, Linda, Mike and Steve, all of Denver, Helen McCormick of Scottsbluff, Mr. and Mrs.Jim Stallman, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Herbers and David Stallman.

Mr. Stallman homesteaded south and west of Lance Creek.

Mr. and Mrs. Boston, Ramona and David arrived here early Sunday after flying to Denver. They left Tuesday to return to Denver for the plane trip home. While here they stayed with Mr.and Mrs. Richard Hoy and family. The ladies are sisters.
