William O. Hitshew
Longtime Fremont County resident William O.Hitshew died Wednesday, June 19, 2002, at Michael Manor in Douglas. He was 75.
Graveside services for Mr. Hirshew are at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 21, at Mountain View Cemetery in Riverton, with Masonic and Veterans rites.
Mr.Hitshew was born in Keeline, Wyo., to Mary (Hatten) and Oliver Hitshew on Jan. 6, 1927. He grew up on the family ranch at Keeline and entered the U.S. Air Force.
After service he married Maybel Thomson in Douglas. They had three children, Linda, Kirby and Tracie.
Mr.Hitshew was a rancher and heavy equipment operator for Brasel and Sims Construction Co. for many years. After retirement, the Hitshews moved to Glenrock until 2001, when both entered Michael Manor in Douglas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Harold Hitshew; sister Wilma Wright, and another sister many years earlier; children Kirby and Tracie.
Survivors are his wife Maybel of Douglas and daughter Linda of Elko, Nev., grandsons David of San Deigo, Calif. and Dustin of Denver; brother-in-law David Thomson and sister-in-law Genevive Waggoned of Douglas; several nieces and nephews.
Memorials in Mr. Hitshew's name may be made to the recipient of the donor's choice through the Davis Funeral Home of Riverton.
