Mrs. Sylvester Dies Here Friday

Mrs. George Sylvester, 52, of Lusk died unexpectedly Friday morning in the Spencer Hospital from mesenteric thrombosis. Funeral services were held Sunday at 2:30 p.m. from the Peet Chapel before an overflow crowd. Rev. Theodore Foster officiated. Burial was in the Lusk Cemetery.

A mixed quartet composed of Mrs. Robert Bramlet, Mrs. Walter Fernau, Dr. Richard Collins and Richard Flood, sang "Still, Still With Thee" and "Jesus, Lover of My Soul." Mrs. J. P. Watson was organist.

Active pallbearers were Harry Fernau, Sr., Harry Fernau, Jr., Harold Rogers, Clarence Patton, M. S. Jordan and Alvin Haworth. Honorary pallbearers were Jim Ringer, Sr., Ben Brown, R. C. Bafford, Bud Hoblit, and G. L. Pfeifer.

Lela Helen Sherman was born December 19, 1905 at Merriman, Nebr. the daughter of Henry and Mary Sherman. Her childhood was spent in Merriman and Valentine, Nebr.

She married George Sylvester December 8, 1922 at Valentine. They were the parents of two daughters, Mrs. Lawrence Doman of Lusk and Mrs. Richard T. Barnette of the Moore Springs community.

Mr. and Mrs. Sylvester made their home in Montana and New Mexico before moving to a ranch near Keeline in 1932, moving to Lusk the following year.

Survivors include her husband and two daughters; her mother, Mrs. Mary Sherman of Lusk; three brothers, Harold Sherman, Norden, Nebr., Dellois Sherman , Chinook, Mont. and Clifford Sherman, Valentine; two sisters, Mrs. Joe Hutchinson, Valentine and Mrs. Reva Anderson of Lusk. Two grandsons, Larry Doman and Scott Barnette and numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Her father and three sisters previously died.

Those from out of town attending the services were Mr. and Mrs. Harold Sherman, Billy, Loretta and George, Mrs. Don Rosenbeck of Norden, Nebr., Mr. and Mrs. Joe Hutchison and Lonnie, Valentine; Mr. and Mrs. Dellois Sherman and Dale, Chinook, Mont.; Mr. and Mrs. Earl Sylvester and Elden, Mrs. Verne Thomas and Edith, Mills, Nebr.; Mrs. Frank Grosset, Pierre, S.D.; Al Sylvester, Moorcroft; Mr. and Mrs. William Hacket, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Clark, Rapid City; Mr. and Mrs. Art Sylvester, Mr. and Mrs. Ted Barney, Igloo; Mr. and Mrs. E. H. Daniels, Whitney, Neb.; Mrs. Robert Smith, Derby, Colo. and Boyd Anderson, Casper.
