Opal Smith Templeton
Opal Smith Templeton died Wednesday, Nov. 27, 1985, at her home in the Ranger Apartments. She was 92.
She was born March 19, 1893, in Warren, Ind., to Horace Lincoln and Loretta Adaline Sprowl Smith.
She married Harmon Johnson Templeton Oct. 15, 1913. They made their home in Roll, Ind., until moving to Grass Creek, Wyo., in 1917. They moved to Lance Creek in 1919 and operated a general store there until moving to Lusk in 1928 to enter business.
Mrs. Templeton was a member of the Jackson Hole Chapter No. 50, O.E.S., P.E.O. Chapter I, the Royal Valley Extension Club and the Congregational Church. She was particularly active in the music department as pianist and soloist in the choir.
She is survived by a son, Robert of Lusk; a daughter, Louanne Mills of Los Altos, Calif.; grandchildren Jo Ann Whitten of Loveland, Colo., Lana Day of Fort Collins, Colo., Thomas Templeton of Albuquerque, N.M., and Robert Mills, Richard Mills and Nancy Kavanagh all of Los Altos, five great-granddaughters and three great-grandsons.
She was preceded in death by her husband, a brother and a great-grandson.
Memorial services were held Monday, Dec. 2, at Peet Mortuary Chapel. The Rev. Frank Blish officiated. Burial was in Lusk Cemetery.
Memorials to the American Cancer Society Loan Closet or the Congregational Church Organ Fund would be appreciated by the family.
