Paul Stanley Thrasher

At his request, no memorial services will be held for Paul Stanley Thrasher, age 74, of Gillette.

Paul Thrasher died Dec. 29, 2002, in the Prairie Manor Nursing Home in Gillette, after a valiant struggle with Parkinson's disease.

Paul was born March 23, 1928, in Martell Kans. He was raised on the Thrasher family homestead near Lost Springs, Wyo.

Paul graduated from Lingle High School in 1946. He served overseas, in the United States Marine Corp as an MP, at Guam and Honolulu, Hawaii from April 8, 1947 to March 30, 1949.

He married Joann Catherine Lewon, in Omaha, Neb., on May 3, 1950.

He was a Wyoming State Highway Patrolman for many years and also ranched in the Lusk area and owned Thrasher Trucking in Torrington, Wyo.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Joann; two daughters, Leslie Glass, of Bismarck, N.D., and Loretta Westbrook, of Las Vegas, Nev.; three sons, Steve Thrasher, of Scottsbluff, Neb., Jay Thrasher, of Douglas, Wyo., and Mike Thrasher, of Lafitte, La.; seven grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

Note: Paul Thrasher is listed in the Jireh Cemetery, as a marker - no remains, between Carrie Thrasher and Harold Thrasher.
