Pioneer of Van Tassell Vicinity Death's Victim

Mrs. Mary Zielinski, aged 64 years, a resident of the Van Tassell community for the past 30 years, passed away at her home last Thursday, a victim of heart affliction. Deceased had been a sufferer of this aliment for a number of years, although her death was sudden and unexpected. She had been confined to her bed a number of times during the past year, always recovering and enjoying periods of seemingly good health. During the final spell of illness, Mrs. Zielinski had been bed-ridden for several days.

She, with her family had grown with the community, and were among the first to settle in that neighborhood, where her passing is mourned by a host of warm friends. Mrs. Zielinski was a native of Poland, but came to this country when but a young girl. The family formerly lived in Illinois.

Surviving are her husband, Anton Zielinski, a son and daughter at home, Alphonse and Helen, another daughter, Mrs. Harry Straak of Casper, and three other sons, Joe, John and Stanley, all of Chicago. These, with a nephew, Ted Kowalski, of Portland, Ore., were present at the funeral services, which were held from the Catholic Church at Van Tassell at 11 o'clock Sunday morning. Father Fidelis officiated at the funeral, with arrangements under the direction of the Peet Mortuary of this city. The remains were laid at rest in the Van Tassell cemetery.

The choir of St. Leo's Catholic Church of Lusk, composed of Mesdames F. L. Micek, Al Guibault, John Cordell, and Frank Barrett, rendered several numbers at the services. Mrs. Joe Kuhn accompanied at the piano.

Pallbearers were Ed Brown, Harry Burnham, Ban Spaeth, Raleigh Reed, A. W. McMasters and M. J. Kuester, all long-time friends of the family.
