Jessie Christensen

Jessie Christensen, age 64 of Casper, died April 22, 1995, at the Wyoming Medical Center following a lengthy illness.

Mrs. Christensen was born March 31, 1931, in Belle Fourche, S.D., to Benjamin and Nadine (Driscoll) Wood. She grew up in the mountains of Wyoming and the Black Hills area and was raised and educated in Belle Fourche. On July 23, 1950, she was married to Fred Christensen in Belle Fourche. Mrs. Christensen traveled the country working for U. S. Fish and Wildlife and moved to Casper in August of 1967.

She was a creative artist, taught Flemingo Dancing, was a student of astrology and enjoyed horse racing.

She is survived by her husband, Fred T. Christensen of Casper; sons, Steve and Mark of Casper, and Scott of Perris, Cal.; mother, Nadine Wood of Belle Fourche, S.D.; sister Francis Tetreault of Tucson, Ariz.; and one granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her father, and one brother, Billy Ben Wood.

At her request there will be no memorial services. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Casper. Memorials may be sent to the Casper Troopers or the Blue Envelope Health Fund.

Jessie Christensen

Jessie Christensen, 64, died April 22, 1995 at the Wyoming Medical Center following a lengthy illness.

Mrs. Christensen was born March 21, 1931, to Benjamin and Nadine (Driskill) Wood at Belle Fourche, S.D., where she grew up and received her education.

On July 23, 1950, she married Fred T. Christensen at Belle Fourche. With her husband, who worked for the U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Mrs. Christensen traveled over the United States, including substantial periods in Nevada and Texas.

They returned to Wyoming in August, 1967, to Casper where Fred was State Supervisor of the Predatory Animal Control Program.

A creative artist, she taught flamenco dancing, enjoyed horse racing, and was a student of astrology.

Survivors include her husband, Fred Christensen of Casper; three sons, Steve and Mark Christensen, both of Casper, and Scott Christensen of Perris, Cal.; her mother of Belle Fourche; a sister, Francis Tetreault of Tucson, Ariz.; and a granddaughter, Chynna Christensen of Casper.

Preceding her in death were her father and a brother, Billy B. Wood.

At Jessie's request, no funeral service will be held. Cremation has occurred and private graveside services will take place at a future date in Lusk.

Memorials either to the Casper Troopers or to the Blue Envelope Health Fund would be appreciated by the family.
