Ella Rogers memorial service being conducted

Memorial service was being conducted here this Wednesday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. for Ella Mae (Mrs. Harold) Rogers, a lifetime resident of Niobrara County. Mrs. Rogers died at the Torrington hospital Sunday, Nov. 12.

She and her husband raised their children Lloyd, Roger and Flora Mae in Lusk.

Mark Lohr was officiating at the service being held in the Peet Mortuary Chapel, Lusk. Music was being provided by mrs. Minerva Watson, organist, and Mrs. Joy Kaltenheuser and Julia Rogers, soloists, singing "Sweet Hour of Prayer" and "The Lord's Prayer".

Interment is to be in the Lusk cemetery. Pallbearers are to be Herbert Klindt, Lex Madden, S.E. West, Bebe Reed, Claude Redding and George Mordock. Memorials are to the Senior Center, Meals on Wheels, or the Cancer fund.

Ella Mae Rogers was born at the Percival Ranch March 2, 1913, the daughter of Garth and Edna Percival.

She attended elementary school at Sand Draw south of the ranch and graduated from Lusk High School in 1932. She was employed by Frank Viele and Foster Rogers in their drug stores and later worked for Dr. Reckling. She also worked at the Lusk Liquor Store and the Fireside Inn.

Ella and Harold Rogers were married on November 26, 1937. She was a member of the Epicopal Church, member and Past Matron of the Order of Eastern Star, member and past Queen of Job's Daughters, BPO Does, Niobrara Senior Citizens, American Legion Auxiliary, Niobrara Hospital Auxiliary, Republican Women, and the Niobrara Country Club.

She was preceded in death by her father and one brother Garth.

She is survived by her widower Harold of Lusk; sons, Lloyd of Bell-Fountain, Ohio and Roger of Slinger, Wis.; daughter, Flora Mae Clark of Lusk; her mother, Edna Percival of Lusk; one sister, Flora Bray of Albuquerque, N.M.; brothers, Roger and Paul of Lusk; 5 grandchildren.
