Mrs. Boyd became ill last September and later was taken to a Denver hospital, where she had been a patient for the past few months. She passed away December 18 and the remains were brought back to Lusk for burial.

Flora Mae Morse was born in Keokuk, Iowa, December 13, 1895, the younger of two daughters of Fred L. and Clara E. Morse.

She grew to young womanhood in Keokuk and Des Moines, Iowa and attended school in both of those cities, as well as in Lusk, Wyo. She also received higher education at a business college in Des Moines and a Polytechnic school in Los Angeles, Calif.

In her girlhood days she received vocal training in the Boston Conservatory of Music. She specialized in operetta and concert work and traveled with a chautauqua as a singer for a considerable period of time. She also sang as a soloist in the Episcopal Church for eleven years, and as a soprano soloist over the radio in some of the most outstanding orchestras in the Middle East and West Coast.

When her father passed away from injuries received in Wyoming in 1916 she and her mother moved from Iowa to make their home in Los Angeles, Calif.

On November 6, 1919, at Bentonville, Ark., she was married to Mr. George Boyd of Lusk. They made their home in Lusk for several years, then moved to California. She was employed in Los Angeles, Calif., by an insurance firm for a period of twenty-seven years, having charge of an office as a life underwriter and secretary. In recent years she retired from active work, returning to Lusk to make her home, where she was always active in civic affairs.

In September, 1945, her health began to fail and she was taken to Denver for hospitalization, but never recovered from her illness. She passed from this life December 18, 1945, at the age of 50 years and five days, leaving to mourn her passing her husband, George; one sister, Mrs. Edna Percival, of Lusk, a number of nephews and nieces and a host of friends.

Others attending the services were Garth Percival of Powell, Lt. Flora Percival of Fitzsimmons Hospital in Denver, and Mrs. Harold Rogers, Paul Percival and Roger Percival, all of Lusk.
