Ella C. Johnson Dies in Seattle; Services Here Fri.

Word has been received by relatives here of the death of Miss Ella C. Johnson at her home in Seattle, Wash., early Sunday morning, Oct. 11, from a heart attack. She is a sister of Lawrence Johnson of Lusk and the late Alfred Johnson. Funeral services and burial will be here Friday.

Ella C. Johnson was born at Columbus, Nebr., June 14, 1883, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Johnson and in 1887 the family moved to Lusk where she attended the Lusk schools and lived here until 1910. After her father's death, with her mother and sisters, Mary, Nora and Emma, she moved to Alliance, Nebr., where they operated a hotel for a number of years. Their next move was to Seattle, Wash., where they have since resided.

For a few years after the family moved to Washington, Miss Johnson, who is a milliner by trade, operated a millinery store at Caldwell, Ida.

Mrs. Emma J. Harwell of Berkeley, Calif., is accompanying her sister's remains, which are being brought to Lusk for interment. Services will be held at the Peet Chapel Friday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock, with the Rev. Hoffman officiating.

Besides her parents, a sister Nora and brother, Alfred preceded her in death. Survivors include two sisters, Mary of Seattle and Mrs. Emma Harwell of Berkeley, Calif., and one brother, Lawrence Johnson of Lusk and the following nieces, Mrs. Ihla Anderson, Avaley Johnson, Mrs. Grace Lindsley all of Lusk, Miss Ruth Johnson of Cheyenne and a nephew, Roy Johnson of Lusk.

Mrs. Ihal Anderson has gone to Seattle to stay with her aunt, Miss Mary Johnson for a time, as she is now all alone and in poor health.

Funeral Services Held Here for Miss Ella C. Johnson

Funeral services were conducted Friday afternoon, Oct. 16, at the Peet Chapel at 2:00 o'clock for Miss Ella C. Johnson, who died at her home in Seattle, Wash., Oct. 11.

The Rev. Raymond P. Hoffman, rector of St. George's Episcopal Church, officiated. The songs "Lead Kindly Light," and "Lead On O King Eternal," were sung as duets by Mrs. H. J. Templeton and Mrs. A. F. DeCastro with Mrs. J. P. Watson as organist.

Miss Johnson is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Johnson, pioneer residents of Lusk and spent her girlhood here. She is a sister of Lawrence Johnson of Lusk.

Interment was made in the family plot in the Lusk Cemetery with the casket bearers being A. F. DeCastro, Ralph MeFarlane, George Gunther, Henry Petz, Robert Scott and Dudley Fields.
