Jeffrey Nicholas Allyn Kendall

Jeffrey Nicholas Kendall, 19, of Greeley, Colo. entered heaven July 30, 2011. He was born in Laramie, Wyo. on Dec. 17, 1991 and lived in Grand Junction, Colo. and Rapid City, SD and graduated from Greeley Central High School. In 2006 he was confirmed as a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Greeley.

Jeffrey was a source of joy to all he met and is remembered for his broad smile, abundant hugs, jovial nature and genuine care he poured into all he met. He was active in and out of school through participation in football, baseball, soccer, basketball, playing guitar, earning a black belt in karate and achieving the distinction of Life Scout. He was dedicated in all he pursued as exemplified by perfect school attendance from kindergarten through his senior year. Jeffrey was a devoted friend and claimed several in school and the Marines as his "brothers".

Proudly, Jeffrey graduated from Marine boot camp on his nineteenth birthday. He was stationed at 29 Palms California and earned the rank of private first class. He was looking forward to his upcoming travel to Australia for his first deployment then attending college to pursue a career in law enforcement.

Survivors include Jeffrey's parents, Gordon Kendall of Rapid City and Sheryl Solberg of Cheyenne, WY; three sisters, Melissa Kendall and Leslie Ferris and her husband Steve all of Las Vegas, NV and Allison Shanor and her husband Luke of Denver, CO; two nephews which he adored, Steven and Alec Ferris; grandparents, Larry and Marilyn Solberg and great-grandmother, Bertha Geodert all of Lusk. WY. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lorraine and Edwin Kendall and great grandfather Nicholas Geodert.

The family received friends from 2-5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 7, 2011 at Adamson Chapel.

A Celebration of Jeffrey's Life was held at 10 a.m. Monday Aug. 8, 2011, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 3000 35th Avenue in Greeley, CO. Interment will be 12:00 noon Tuesday at Black Hills National Cemetery in SD.
