LeVina Jean "Jeannie" Bartlett

For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.

-2 Corinthians 5:1

LeVina Jean "Jeannie" Bartlett left her earthly house to join her Heavenly Father in her heavenly home on March 6, 2012 at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center in Cheyenne, Wyo. A viewing was held on March 9, 2012 at Pier Funeral Home. The service was held on March 10, 2012 at the Niobrara Southern Baptist Church at 2 p.m. with Rev. Jim Ritter and Rev. Randy Barnett officiating. Burial took place immediately following the service with a reception held at the Niobrara Senior Center in Lusk, Wyo.

Jeannie was the second child born to Robert A. and Verna Jean (Kelso) Mullenax on April 26, 1948 in Grand Island, Neb. She was raised by her grandparents, Earl and Mable (Larkin) Kelso.

Jeannie earned her nursing degree as a Registered Nurse and Licensed Nurse Practitioner in 1966. It was this same year on April 20, 1966 that she was united in marriage to whom she had always affectionately dubbed the 'love of her life,' Rev. Larry Bartlett in Grand Island, Neb.

They lived in Nebraska, where she worked as a nurse. Larry and Jeannie became the proud parents of their first son, Kevin Troy on Dec. 8, 1970 in Omaha, Neb.

In 1971, they moved from Nebraska to Douglas, Wyo., where Jeannie continued to work in the nursing field at the hospital there. It was there that they again became the proud parents on Feb. 26, 1976 with a daughter Brandie Joy in Douglas, Wyo.

Jeannie served with her husband for over 35 years in the ministry. She, with her husband, served as Christian Counselors. Jeanie also taught Sunday School and worked closely alongside her husband throughout the years in a variety of churches.

Jeannie loved to sing hymns and play the piano. She performed at several revivals throughout her life. She loved the Lord and was always readily available to help those that were in need. Jeannie loved her extended Christian family and their children.

In 1987, Jeanie moved with her family to Lusk, Wyo. She continued on with her nursing career as the county nurse and later worked as a Case Worker at the Niobrara Senior Center for over 15 years before finally retiring.

She loved her children and foster children that she welcomed into her home. She loved to take care of the elderly and was passionate about the Lord and her work. Jeannie volunteered her time as an EMT on the Lusk Ambulance Service, where she taught classes and helped tutor other EMTs who were entering the field.

Jeannie also spent much of her time with her husband by volunteering at the Wyoming Women's Center (WWC). It was at WWC that she and her husband would officiate services every Sunday. She had also offered Christian Counseling to the inmates and marriage counseling as well.

She was an avid quilter and demonstrated her multifaceted artistic abilities through painting, sewing, needle work, decorating cakes, baking, cooking and composing and singing her own music. She enjoyed spending her time with her family and friends. Jeannie loved camping with her husband at Glendo Reservoir. She would fish on the pontoon boat and occasionally pilot the vessel.

Jeannie had always been the first to offer a helping hand, continually opening her home and her heart to those around her. She was always eager to welcome newcomers into her family and still considered those around her as her daughters, sons and friends until the end. She loved to spend Monday evenings with "Bag Ladies," where they would meet at her home and sew and fellowship.

Jeannie was preceded in death by her grandparents, Earl and Mable (Larkin) Kelso, Harvey and Edith Mullenax. Her parents Robert A. Mullenax and Verna Jean Kelso; her two children, Larry Paul Bartlett and Angela Crystal Bartlett; her brother David Mullenax.

She is survived by her husband Rev.
