Oscar Jones Dies Friday; Services Held Here Mon.

Oscar Jones, 79, of Bright, died in the Weston County Memorial Hospital Friday following a lingering illness. Funeral services were held Monday at 2:00 p.m. from the Peet Chapel with Rev. Howard Cummings of Newcastle officiating. Burial was in the Lusk Cemetery.

Mrs. Cummings, soloist, sang "Beyond the Sunset" and "Precious Lord Take My Hand." Mrs. J. P. Watson ws organist.

Active pallbearers were Bill McDaniel, Jack McDaniel, Tod Pate, Everette Bird, John Wasserburger and Hobart Cockreham. Honorary pallbearers were Ray DeGering, Albert DeGering, C. A. David, Hans Meng, Woodson Graham, John Boatright, Tim Deveny, Rogr Cowell, Ed Pfister, Glen Langley, C. a. David, Dick Pfister, E. O. Kint and Bill Smyth.

Oscar Henry Jones was born October 6, 1879 in Fredonia, Kans., the son of John and Eliza Jones. He grew to manhood in Chadron.

He married Nellie Rose Lockett January 26, 1902 in Chadron. In 1915 they began ranching at Bright where they have made their home since. Here they reared their five children.

Survivors include his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Paul McDaniel, Bright, and Mrs. Jim Sable of Lander; three sons, Donal A. Jones, Osage, Edgar T. Jones, Newcastle and Theodore O. Jones, Bright. Numerous grandchildren and other relatives also survive.
