Mrs. Brown

The death of Mrs. R. S. Brown, which occurred last Wednesday, came as a shock to the community, she having been sick but a few days. Mrs. Brown was well and favorably known to all here, having come to this place about 20 years ago. Her husband started the first store here, which he owned until his death about six years ago, since which time the business was carried on by Mrs. Brown. Most of the town lots also belonged to Mrs. Brown, and she was much interested in the growth and welfare of our little town and was ever ready to assist in every good work. She was a charter member of the Royal Neighbors of America of this place, and her funeral was attended by them en masse. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Dalzell at the Congregational church, of which she was an attendant. Mrs. Brown had many friends here and throughout the county who deeply regret her death.
