Carson Hathaway, 79 years old, died Saturday, November 11, of uremic poisoning, at the Manring Convalescent Home, following an illness of about two years. Five days before death, the deceased sank into a coma, from which he never revived.
Since 1920, Mr. Hathaway has resided on his homestead in the northern part of the county, or with his son, Charles E. Hathaway, who lives in the Cheyenne River district. Six weeks before his death he was brought to the Manring Home for medical treatment, but his advanced age and the seriousness of his illness made recovery impossible.

Mr. Hathaway lived in Monoma County, Iowa, from the time he was four years old, until about 23, when he moved to Portaind, Oregon, where he resided for ten years. In 1920 he returned to Niobrara county, where he filed on a homestead in the northern part of the county.
