HENRY F. MILLER DIES ON MONDAY; ILL SHORT TIME

Became Suddenly Ill Late Sunday Might at His Home Here

Body Taken to Chadron and Funeral Services are Held There Wednesday Afternoon

Another pioneer has crossed the Great divide, Henry Frederick Miller, for forty years a resident of northwest Nebraska, died after an illness of but twelve hours at his home in Lusk, Wyoming., October 12, 1925.

Henry Frederick Miller was born in Hanover, Germany, April 3, 1862. He was a lad of but ten years of age when his parents came to America. The family spent the first six years in their adopted country in Iowa, then moved to Lancaster county, Nebraska, where Mr. Miller grew to manhood. As he was turning twenty, he moved with friends to Dawes county, expecting to file on a homestead claim. His age necessitated a delay, and after living in Dawes county for a few months he retraced his steps to Valentine, where he had lived until some three months ago, when he and his good wife moved to Lusk.

Mr. Miller was united in marriage to Ida May Thompson in 1887. They were the proud parents of five children, all of whom survive. They are:  Mrs. J.M. Bishop, Lusk, Wyo.; Mrs. H.E. Wells, Valentine, Nebr.; Mrs. J.M. Bunnell, Little Rock, Ark.;  Henry C. Miller, Chadron, Nebr.; and George L. Miller of Lusk, Wyo.

Until early this summer, Mr. Miller had been an active rancher and farmer. While not a rugged man, he yet enjoyed good health. His sudden death came as a shock to his family and friends.

Although Mr. Miller had reached the age of 62 years, his death occasions the first break in the family circle since the death of his parents some years ago. Three sisters and two brothers also survive him: Mrs. Sophia M. Schmidt, Chadron, Nebr.; Mrs. Louisa Boller, Hickman, Nebr.; Mrs. Minnie Ware, Crawford, Nebr.; William Miller, Ida Grove, Ia.; and C.H. Miller of Denton, Kan. He also leaves nine grandchildren.

The body was sent to Chadron Tuesday evening and funeral services were held form the Erlewine funeral home at that place, at 2:30 o'clock Wednesday afternoon, October 14.

The Rev. Walter C. Plank, pastor of the First Methodist Episcopal church, officiating. Interment was made in Greenwood cemetery.

Those from Lusk attending the funeral were Mrs. H.F. Miller, Mr. and Mrs. J.M. Bishop and daughter, Leta, and Mr. and Mrs. George Miller
