Barney Miller Funeral Saturday

Funeral Services were held Saturday for George L. "Barney" Miller, 76, from St. George's Episcopal Church with the Rev. Theodore Foster officiating. Burial was in the Lusk Cemetery.

Mr. Miller died in the Niobrara Memorial Hospital last Wednesday of a heart condition.

Mrs. Robert Bramlet, Miss Neoma Taylor and Harry Lyon sang, "Abide With Me" and "Just As I Am." Mrs. A. F. DeCastro was the organist.

Pallbearers were Joe Stenson, William Hoblit, Jess York, John Sturman, R. G. Pfister and Dan Christian.

Honorary pallbearers were: Claude Redding, H. J. Templeton, Buryl Fullerton, Leo Thompson, Herb Klindt, Otto Krekeler, C. W. Erwin, Slim Gihlert, Harry Boner, James Barrett, Cliff Mangus, William Thompson, Horace Baca, Frank Bautch, William J. Mill, Bryan Patrick, Thomas McCullough, David Schwartz, Thomas Fagan, Harold Bacheller, Norman Call, Roscoe Kilmer, Bob Hardman, Al Rundquist and Ray Baughn.

George Logan Miller was born October 8, 1887 the son of Henry Fred and Ida May Miller at Valentine, Nebr. He was a well driller by trade.

On July 12, 1910 he and Orpha Belle Keister were married. They had two daughters, Georgia Belle and Dorothy Estelle. In 1916 he moved his family to Hot Springs, S. Dak. where he worked in a pool hall. In 1922, he moved to Lusk where he has since resided. He owned and operated a billiard room and a theater in Lusk. In 1936 he opened Barney's Bar which he operated until he sold it in 1952.

He is survived by his wife, Belle; two daughters, Georgia M. Kline of Denver and Mrs. Charles McLean of Guernsey; five grandchildren; John M. McLean of Victorville, Calif., Mary Lou Burgess of Cheyenne, Tom and Carol Sue McLean of Guernsey and Richard Kline of Denver; one great-grandson, Dougie McLean of Victorville, Calif.; his niece, Leta Bishop of Guernsey; and several other nieces and nephews in Nebraska.

Barney Miller dies Wednesday

George L. "Barney" Miller, 76, died at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday of a heart condition at Niobrara Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Miller came to Lusk in the early 1920's from Hot Springs, S. Dak. He has operated a movie theatre, pool hall and was in the bar business for many years.

He is survived by his wife, Belle, and two daughters, Mrs. Georgia Cline of Denver and Mrs. Dorothy McLain of Guernsey.
