HEZEKIAH B. PENN SUCCUMBS JUNE 13 TO PARALYSIS
Passes Away at Home Here After Illness of But Two Days
Was Rancher in Hat Creek Community for Past Seven Years; Had Large Family
Died, Wednesday, June 13, 1923, at his home in Lusk, Hezekiah B. Penn, at the age of 70 years, 8 months and 8 days. Death was caused by a stroke of paralysis. Mr. Penn suffered the attack early Tuesday morning which later developed cerebral hemorrhage.
Mr. Penn was a son of Thomas and Martha Penn and was born in Illinois on September 5, 1852. At the age of four years, he moved with his parents to eastern Nebraska. On May 30, 1885, he was married to Miss. Anna Lewis. To this union seven children were born,, all of whom survive.
In the spring of 1916, Mr. Penn, with his family, came to Wyoming, settling near Hat Creek. Since that time he had followed the ranching industry.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Anna l. Penn; four daughters, Mamie Gellatley of Russell, Kan.; Mrs. Grace Whitmore of Casper; Mrs. Iva McGinnis and Mrs. Velda Miller, both of Hat Creek; three sons, Leo, Albert and Charles, all of whom reside in Hat Creek. He also leaves one sister and five brothers.
Funeral services were held at 11 o'clock Monday morning at the Community Congregational church in Lusk, R.H. Williams, minister, officiating. The remains were laid to rest in the Lusk cemetery.
One brother from Neligh, Nebr., was here to attend the funeral.
