Frank Reinecke was born in Freeport, Illinois, November 7, 1868 of German parentage and departed this life, January 26th, 1933, thus attaining the age of 64 years 2 months and 19 days.

When Mr. Reinecke was but seven years of age his mother died, so he was a motherless lad practically from his infancy. His father, however, lived to the ripe age of 89 years, departing this life in 1918.

Frank Reinecke came to Niobrara county, about 40 years ago, so was reckoned one of the old settlers here. He located on a homestead south of town, now known as J.W. Higgins ranch, and divided his time between ranching and well-drilling.

On January 29th, 1902,( 31 years ago today) he was married to Miss Pearl Swanson and to this union six children were born, all of whom survive. They are--Mrs. Minnie McCarthy, Osage; Valdy Reinecke, Miss Jennie, Omaha, Nebraska; Miss Alice, Miss Rosella and Dannie, all of whom are living at the family home.

In 1913 the family moved from the ranch to their present home in town, where they have lived most of the time since.

On February 3, 1929, Mr. Reinecke professed conversion and united with the First Baptist church of Lusk and gave proof of many Christian graces. For more than a year past, he has been practically an invalid and for most of the time was confined to his home under great suffering. During that time he was most cheerful, marvelously patient and always uncomplaining. Hopeful and prayerful to the last, he died as he lived, trusting his Lord.

There remain to mourn his departure his devoted wife, who ministered to him most tenderly, his children, three grandchildren, one brother, Charles Reinecke of Wetaskiwin, Alberta Canada and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held from the First Baptist church Sunday afternoon, January 29, 1933, Rev. B.F. Farrar officiating. The sermon was from Rev. 14:13- "Blessed are the dead that die in the lord."

The choir, composed of Miss Della Parmaley, Mrs. Harriet Smith, Mrs. B.F. Farrar, Mrs. Ellis, Mrs. Marvin and William Sherk and Mr. Higgins rendered several beautiful selections. The pallbearers were L.R. Van Tassell, Harry Hargraves, W.W. Edmonson, Joe McFarlane, Arthur Gimes and Frank Finney. Earl Peet of the Peet Mortuary had charge of arrangements. Interment took place in the Lusk cemetery.
