Jessie Mahnke Dies in Colorado Funeral Wed.

Mrs. Jessie M. Mahnke, 86, died April 30 at Colorado Springs, Colo. Funeral services were conducted this Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at the Peet Mortuary in Lusk. Burial was in the Prairie View Cemetery at Lost Springs. Allen E. Page, pastor of the Open Bible Church of Lusk, officiated.

Mrs. A. F. DeCastro, organist, accompanied Russell Olmstead, soloist, as he sang "God Be With You Till We Meet Again" and "Beyond The Sunset."

Casket bearers were Harry Brown, Allen Heins, Ed Rogina, Everette Brooks, Neil Grant and Ray Taylor.

She was born June 6, 1884, to Henry and Mary M. Reinstma in Illinois, one of 13 children. As a young lady she worked in Sioux City, Iowa, where she married William Mahnke in 1909. They operated a hotel in Sioux City for a few years, moving to Wyoming in 1915 and homesteaded south of Keeline.

She spent several years in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Briscoe, and for the past year and a half she has been living with her daughter, Mrs. Katherine Swan of Colorado Springs.

Her parents, two sisters, eight brothers and one son died previously.

Survivors include William Mahnke, daughters, Mrs. Carl (Margaret) Briscoe, Dayton, Wyo., Mrs. Katherine Swan, Colorado Springs, Colo.; sons, Art Mahnke, Lusk, Henry Mahnke, Denver; stepchildren Frank Mahnke, Keeline, and Mrs. Helen Clemons, Erie, Colo.; brother, Otto Reinstma, Sibley, Iowa; sister, Mrs. Hatti Bergman, Perkan, Minn., several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Many Relatives Come For Mahnke Funeral

Out-of-town relatives in Lusk last Wednesday to attend the funeral of Mrs. Jessie Mahnke were Mrs. Helen Clemons, Erie, Colo.; Mr. and Mrs. Larry Swan, Pueblo, Colo.; Dr. Donald F. Mahnke, Casper, Wyo.; Mr. and Mrs. Bert Swan and family, Colorado Springs, Colo.; Mr. and Mrs. Carl Briscoe, Mr. and Mrs. Pete Briscoe and Ronda, Mrs. Jannet Moore and Yodi, all of Dayton, Wyo.; and Ray Briscoe, serving with the Coast Guard at Seattle, Wash.
