Mabel Mathewson Services Held Sat.

Funeral services for Mrs. Mabel Mathewson were conducted from the Peet Chapel Saturday afternoon, Mar. 7, at 2:00 o'clock with the Rev. Frank Schweissing, pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiating.

The musical selections, "In the Garden" and "Beautiful Isle," were sung by Mrs. Emerson Bonner and Mrs. A.F. DeCastro, and the "Lords Prayer" was sung as a solo by Ray Anderton. Mrs. J.P. Watson presided at the chapel organ.

Interment was made in the Lusk Cemetery with James McCune, Harry Carlisle, Harold Rogers, Cye Bonner, Leslie Huff and Emerson Bonner as casket bearers.

Mrs. Mabel Mathewson was born Nov. 9, 1900 at Culbertson, Nebr., the daughter of Frank and Ada Short. Dec. 25, 1918 she was married to Ralph Mathewson at Bridgeport, Nebr., and they became parents of four children. In 1937, the family moved from Glendo to Lusk and two years later, Apr. 7, 1939, Mr. Mathewson died.

Mrs. Mathewson united with the Baptist Church in Lusk Sept. 4, 1943, and has been an ardent worker in the church and Sunday school.

Survivors include a son, Frieburn F. Mathewson, of Mira Monte, Cal.; and three daughters, Mrs. Beulah Watson, of San Pablo, Calif., Mrs. Helen Leone Canon of Glenrock, Wyo., Mrs. Clea Lorene Lewis of Lusk; three grandchildren; a brother, Walter Short, of Evans Colo.; and two sisters, Mrs. Joicey Benson, of Arvada, Colo., and Mrs. Lee Worley, Grand Junction, Colo.

Mabel Mathewson Dies Wed. Morning

Mrs. Mabel Mathewson, 52, resident of Lusk for the past 17 years, died Wednesday morning at nine o'clock at the Spencer Hospital. She recently underwent surgery and was much improved when a heart condition developed which caused her death.

Mrs. Mathewson moved to Lusk from Glendo 17 years ago. Her husband, Ralph, died in April, 1939.

Survivors are one son, Frieburn F. of Mira Monty, Calif., and three daughters, Mrs. Beulah Watson, San Pablo, Calif., Mrs. Helen Leone Cannon, Glenrock and Mrs. Clea Lorene Lewis of Lusk.

Mrs. Mathewson's funeral will be held at the Peet Chapel Saturday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock.
