Last Rites Held for Ralph Mathewson

Ralph Mathewson, of Lusk, died Friday, April 7th, at the Lusk Hospital, where he had been taken for surgical treatment for chronic Thyroiditis.

His immediate survivors are his widow, and four children: Frieburn, Beulah, Helen, and Clea.

Funeral services were held at the Peet Funeral Chapel Monday afternoon at 2:30, in charge of Mrs. Perl Methewson, of the Four Square Gospel Church of Lincoln, Nebr. Interment was made in the Lusk Cemetery. A mixed quartette consisting of J. M. Hungate, F. B. Kuns, Edna DeCastro and Mrs. D.J. Cobb sang "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere" and "In the Garden." A solo, "At the Eastern Gate," was sung by Mr. Wm. Sherk. The quartet sang "Shall We Gather at the River" at the graveside. Pallbearers were: Thomas Houser of Sunrise, Francis Fronapple, of Guernsey, John Sullivan, of Douglas, Fred Smith, Thomas Roberts, and Roy Johnson, of Glendo.

Relatives surviving Mr. Mathewson who were from a distance are a brother, Harold, from Richmond, Calif., and Uncle and Aunt, Mr. and Mrs. John Mathewson of Upton, Wyoming, Aunt and cousin, Mr. and Mrs. Shank of Baggs, Wyo.; Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Short of Bridgeport, Nebr.; Mr. and Mrs. Walter Short of Evans, Colo.; Mr. and Mrs. Benson, Platteville, Colo.; Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Hardin, Casper; and Mr. and Mrs. Wolfe of Upton, Wyo.

OBITUARY
Ralph Jerry Mathewson was born at Octavia, Nebraska, September 22, 1900. When he was about sixteen years of age his parents moved to Bridgeport, Nebraska, at which place he was united in marriage to Mabel L. Short on December 25, 1918.

Mr. and Mrs. Mathewson then located on a homestead near Glendo, Wyo., where they resided until 1937, when they came to Lusk and purchased the old Leach ranch one mile southeast of Lusk, which is still the family home.

He was baptized in the Baptist church in childhood, and was highly respected by many friends.
