Funeral Service For Ollie Miller

Funeral service was held Friday at 2:00 p.m. for Mrs. G. M. (Ollie) Miller, 72, who died at the Natrona County Memorial Hospital February 27.

The service was conducted by Vince McFarlane with Dawn Hicks and Carolyn Hammond singing "The Old Rugged Cross," "How Great Thou Art" and "Home On The Range." Mrs. J. P. Watson was the organist.

Honorary pallbearers were Lue Osborn, Rulo Roberts, Ed Cook, Bud Shipley, Lee Penn, Frank Christian and Wilbur Bryant.

Casket Bearers were Burr Bryant, Richard Kant, Milton Himes, Rex Heth, James Heth and Bill Allender. Burial was in the Lusk Cemetery.

Ollie May Canfield was born April 3, 1901, at Wablos, Mo., the daughter of James and Bessie Chancellor Canfield. She was reared in the Methodist Church and attended schools in Missouri and Nebraska.

She married George Melvin Miller at Alliance, Neb., February 14, 1918. After the wedding they moved to Niobrara County where they homesteaded near Hat Creek and lived for 30 years.

The Millers moved to Lusk in 1942, to Riverton in 1955 and Scappose, Ore. in 1964. In 1965 they moved to Manville and in July, 1972, moved back to Lusk.

She is survived by her husband; three sons, Lloyd Miller, Manville, Don Miller, Riverton and Jack Miller, Lusk; four daughters, Mrs. Cleo Cooley, Ogden, Utah, Lila Stratton, Lance Creek, June Terrell, Douglas and Jean Matthews, Thermopolis; one brother, Chester Canfield, Kansas City, Kan.; 22 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
