Martin Mudra Funeral To Be This Thursday

Funeral service for Martin E. Mudra, 79, long-time county resident, will be held this Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at the Peet Chapel. Mr. Mudra died March 11 at GraMar Manor in Scottsbluff.

The Rev. Fred Bolinger will conduct the service with Mrs. J. P. Watson, organist, Mrs. Pete Germann and Mrs. Paul Morgan will sing "In The Garden" and "The Old Rugged Cross."

Honorary pallbearers will be Harry Austin, Otto Klemke, C. E. Marvin, Pete Owens, Fred Hanson and H. P. Klemke.

Casket bearers will be Orval Allen, Bob Vollmer, Dale Lange, Clyde Blackmore, Ralph Sides and Charles Lund. Military honors will be conducted at the cemetery by Wieten Dupes Post of the American Legion.

Martin E. Mudra, son of Joe and Roseann Mudra, was born March 20, 1893 at Burton, Neb.

He came to Wyoming in 1913 and attended the Barker School north of Lusk. Mudra filed on a homestead west of Shawnee in Converse, County. On August 9, 1917 he enlisted in the U.S. Army and was stationed in France where he was a horseshoer He was discharged March 10, 1919.

He returned to Niobrara County and worked on the Roy Turnbull ranches for 50 years.

Mudra was a member of the American Legion.

Survivors include a brother, John of Lusk and a sister Mary Bates of Cannonville, Ore.

His parents, two brothers and one sister died previously.
