Funeral Services for Mrs. Mary Mashek Sunday

Funeral services were held at the Congregational Church here Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock for Mrs. Mary Mashek who passed away in Scottsbluff, at St. Mary's Hospital on November 1. Rev. Glen Fry officiated at the services and burial was in the Hemingford Cemetery.

Mary Mracek was born in Czechoslovakia on September 25, 1881. She was 64 years, 1 month and 6 days old at the time of her death.

She came with her parents to the United States when two years old. For a time the family lived in Bellaire, Ohio. They came to Box Butte County, Nebraska, near Hemingford when Mary was eight years old. On May 12, 1904 she was married to Henry Mashek. They spent two years in Wyoming returning to a homestead near Marsland where both lived until their deaths, Mr. Mashek having died two years ago. Five children were born in this home. One daughter died some years ago.

Surviving Mrs. Mashek are a daughter, Mrs. Lewis Freimuth of Alliance, Nebr., and three sons, James, Lewis and Frank, all of Crawford, Nebr., a brother James Mracek of Lafayette, Colo., and a sister, Mrs. Anna Hayne of Perry, Okla. She also leaves two sisters, Mrs. Anna Hayes of Perry, grandchildren, other relatives.
