C. L. Frye, 69, Dies Thursday

Carlyle L. Frye, 69, of Lusk died at the Niobrara County Hospital last Thursday. Funeral services were conducted from the Peet Mortuary in Lusk Monday at 10:00 a.m. by Elders Roger Clucken, Bruce Gardiner, Floyd E. Young, Charles S. Bouck, and Johnny D. McCoy, of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints of Lusk.

Mrs. J. P. Watson furnished organ music and accompanied Mrs. Floyd E. Young and Mrs. Bruce Gardiner as they sang "Oh My Father" and "Beyond the Sunset."

Casket bearers were Merlin Frye, Darrel Frye, Bruce Munson, Allen Heineman, Terry Frye and Rodney Ingwersen. Burial was in the Lusk Cemetery

He was born January 15, 1898 at Meadowgrove, Nebr., to Loren B. and Juenette Ashcraft.

He married Ida Mae Youngs, October 21, 1916 at Meadowgrove. They were the parents of five children.

They made their home in Western Nebraska and Eastern Wyoming. While farming and ranching were his main occupations in his earlier days, he also became a skilled hunter and trapper.

Mr. Frye always had coon hounds with which to hunt coon and also used the dogs to hunt bear in the Teton Mountains. He was also successful in trapping bear in that area.

In his later years he was a partner in a taxi business in Lusk and Douglas. He and his wife have lived in Lusk, since his retirement due to ill health.

His great enjoyment was spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and was surrounded by them all his life.

He spent many hours recounting his hunting and fishing experiences.

In 1966, he and his wife celebrated their golden wedding anniversary.

Survivors include his widow, Mae; three sons, Willard L. of Lusk, Aaron C. of Manville, Rueben R. of Chadron; one daughter, Marian Halligan of Lusk; one brother, Paul, Dalles, Oregon; a sister Grace Ohring, Montebello, Calif.; ten grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends.

One son, two grandsons, and two great-grand children, one brother, and a sister died previously.
