Ann Peterson

Gravesides services for Ann Peterson were held Nov. 29, 2003, in Fairfield, Wash.

Ann Peterson died Nov. 25, 2003, in Spokane Valley, Wash.

She was born Feb. 20, 1912, to Harry and Rosa (Gephardt) Fahy in Nebraska. When Ann was a child her family moved from St. Libori, Neb. to take up ranching near Flattop, Wyo.

In 1932 she married Pete (Lloyd) Peterson. They ranched near Jireh, Wyo. and later moved to Lusk, where Pete and his partner Bob Himes set up a garage. The depression lingered in Wyoming. There was plenty of work, but few could pay. So Ann, Pete, and their four children made the trek west to Kennewick, Wash.

In 1940 the family moved to Fairfield, a place Ann and Pete grew to love. Ann enjoyed the beauty of the flowers, loved to dance, and cherished her friends and family. Her service to the community was recognized at the Fairfield Flag Day Celebration several years ago, when she was honored as Citizen of the Year.

Her husband of 63 years preceded her in death.

Survivors include her brother John Fahy; her children, Ralph and Georgia Peterson, Lois McClung, Ellen and Jim Scott, June and Norm Johns; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great granddaughter.

Memorials made be made to the Fairfield Skate Board Park, P.O. Box 416, Fairfield, Wash.
