Lennie Bird Shockley

Funeral services for Lennie Bird Shockley, 92, of Casper, Wyo., were held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, Oct. 18, at the Ross Memorial Chapel of the First Presbyterian Church in Casper with Rev. Judith McQuiston of Winter Memorial Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment followed at Highland Cemetery in Casper.

Mrs. Shockley died Oct. 13, 1993, at the Crawford Hospital in Crawford, Neb.

Mrs. Shockley was born Nov. 1, 1900, to Herman and Ella (Florida) Hinrichs in Houston, Missouri. She was the daughter of a pioneer family who traveled from Missouri by covered wagon.

She married James T. Shockley on Dec. 16, 1923 in Grass Creek, Wyo. They moved to Casper from Byron, Wyo., in 1952. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church; Presbyterian Women's Club; Alysne Chapter #27 and Past Matron of Radiant Chapter #34 of Order of Eastern Star.

Mrs. Shockley is survived by a son, Robert J. Shockley of Harrison, Ne., a daughter Mrs. Richard (Elsie Mae) Nutley of Las Vegas, Nev., a brother Walter S. Hinrichs of McMinnville, Ore., three grandchildren, three great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and two brothers, Bill and Clarence Hinrichs.

Memorials may be made to the Blue Envelope Health Fund and sent to Memorial Chapel Funeral Home in Casper.
