Mrs. Joseph P. Bartos Dies Suddenly This Morning in Family Home Here; Concluding Rites Saturday Afternoon

Death claimed Mrs. Minnie Bartos, wife of Joseph P. Bartos, suddenly this (Thursday) morning, November 11th, at 8:50 o'clock. Mrs. Bartos' unexpected demise was said to have been caused by a heart attack.

Concluding rites will be held at two o'clock, Saturday afternoon, from the chapel of the Peet Mortuary with Rev. Frank Bozart, pastor of the Open Bible Church, will officiate.

Mrs. Bartos was born August 2, 1885 at Madison, Nebr., and at the time of her demise had attained the age of 69 years, nine months and three days.

Mr. and Mrs. Bartos were married at Alliance, Nebr., in September 1906 and made their home there until 1914 when they came to Wyoming and homesteaded north of Keeline. In 1945, they retired from active ranching and moved to Lusk where they have since made their home. Mrs. Bartos had taken an active part in the community life of Keeline, and since moving to Lusk was affiliated with the West Side Hustlers club, and attended the Open Bible Church.

Survivors include her husband, Joseph P. Bartos, two daughters, Mrs. Ethel Church of San Bruno, Calif., Mrs. Merle Sylvester, Wheatland, Wyo., two sons, Glen Bartos of Douglas, Wyo., and Floyd Bartos of Keeline, Wyo., nineteen grandchildren, six great grandchildren, three brothers, Louis and Amos Wanek of Hemingford, Nebr., Oscar Wanek of Story, Wyo., and one sister Mrs. Lily Kennedy of Alliance, Nebr.

Mrs. Joe Bartos Dies Unexpectedly In Lusk Nov. 11

Mrs. Joseph P. Bartos, 69, died unexpectedly at her home in Lusk November 11 between 8 and 9 a.m., of chronic heart trouble.

Funeral services were held November 13 at 2:00 p.m. at the Peet Chapel with Rev. Frank Bozart officiating. "The Old Rugged Cross" and "In the Garden" were sung by Mrs. Carl Peterson and Mrs. Otha Holcomb with Mrs. J.P. Watson, organist.

Casket bearers were Ben Wolfe, Ben Brown, George Sylvester, James Ringer, Jr., Chuck Vaughan and Leonard Gilbert. Interment was in Lusk Cemetery with the Peet Mortuary in charge.

Minnie Wanek Bartos was born August 2, 1885, at Madison, Nebr., the daughter of Joseph and Mary Planesky Wanek. She was married to Joseph P. Bartos at Alliance, Neb. in September 1906.

In April, 1914, they moved to Wyoming where they homesteaded north of Keeline and made their home there until September, 1945, when they moved to Lusk.

Surviving are her husband, two daughters; Mrs. Ethel Church of San Bruno, Calif., and Mrs. Merle Sylvester of Wheatland; two sons, Glen of Douglas and Floyd of Keeline; nineteen grandchildren and six great grandchildre; three brothers, Louis and Amos Wanek of Hemingford, Neb. and Oscar Wanek of Story, Wyo.; one sister, Mrs. Lily Kennedy of Alliance.
