Mrs. Taylor was employed by the Niobrara County School system as a cook for over 18 years. She cooked both at the high school and elementary schools and at the Southside and Fireside Inn restaurants.

Lorraine Gale Livermore was born in Eau Claire County Wisconsin on November 21, 1915, to Wayne and Ivis Livermore. Her early childhood years were spent in the community of Augusta, Wis.

Following graduation from Augusta High School, she attended Winona (Minnesota) Business College. She joined the WAAC in 1943 serving two years with the Cable Section, stationed in England, France and Germany.

Lorraine and Ray Taylor were married January 20, 1946, and while their two children were growing up here Mrs. Taylor was actively involved in youth organizations. She served as a 4-H leader and den mother for the cub scouts and was involved with school and church activities for young people.

A member of the Congregational Church, Mrs. Taylor sang in the choir and was a member of the Dorcas Guild.

Her interests varied and involved family and friends. She was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion Auxiliary. She was active in the Senior Citizens and Retired Teachers Association and participated in adult education classes. Mrs. Taylor, who acquired many skills down through the years was "always willing to share her knowledge - called on many times for her expertise," said the Rev. Frank Blish.

Rev. Blish officiated at the funeral held at Peet Mortuary Chapel Sept. 19. Music was provided by Jane Bardo, organist; and Joy Kaltenheuser, Ruth Thomas, Gerald Bardo and James Willson who sang "How Great Thou Art," and "Thou Hidden Love of God."
