Funeral Service Last Thurs. for Floyd Wilkison

Funeral service was held November 2 at 11:00 a.m. at the Peet Chapel for Floyd Wilkison, who died October 29 at Newcastle.

The Rev. Fred Bolinger conducted the service with Mrs. J. P. Waston accompanying Tim Johnson, soloist, as he sang "The Last Round-up" and "Mansion Over the Hilltop."

Honorary pall bearers were Orville Wright, Floyd Baughman, Joe Traphagan, Dick Lee, Harvey Overman and Jess York. Casket bearers were James McAllister, Andy Neilson, Walt Kant, John Overman, Buster Penfield and Fred Sheaman. Burial was in the Lusk Cemetery.

Floyd Harold Wilkison was born December 30, 1903, to Rose Ella Welch and William R. Wilkison at Galian, Kan. He attended school at Manhattan, Kan. March 12, 1930, he married Anna B. Moore at Hot Springs, S. D. Nine children were born to the couple.

The Wilkisons lived in the Lance Creek area and for most of his life Mr. Wilkison worked as a cowboy. For about 20 years he drove a school bus and will also be remembered for his band which played at dances.

For the past ten months he has been a patient at Weston Manor Nursing Home at Newcastle. October 26 he became ill and was moved to the Newcastle hospital where he died October 29.

He is survived by his wife; eight children, Nellie Clingman, Grand Junction, Colo., Doris Money, Casper, Leonard, Lusk, Clifford, Manville, Rose Moore, Lance Creek, Connie Gibbs of Middletown, Ohio, Ronald and Dick of Casper; 22 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. His parents, two brothers and one son died previously.

Floyd Wilkison Service to Be Held This Thurs.

Floyd Wilkison, 69, of Lusk died Sunday at the Newcastle Hospital. Funeral service will be held Thursday at the Peet Chapel at 11:00 a.m.

Mr. Wilkison is survived by his sife, Anna and eight of the nine children of the couple, Nellie Clingman, Grand Junction, Colo.; Doris Money, Casper; Leonard, Lusk; Clifford, Manville; Rose Moore, Lance Creek; Connie Gibbs, Middleton, Ohio; and Dick and Ronald of Casper.
